Team Pitches with Cygnus Review

When Madeleine Hebert, Christine Carino and I joined the summer intern team for Artists Walking Home, we were encouraged by Director Catherine Pulkinghorn to pursue a personal project alongside our intern positions that would imbibe our past experiences and newfound knowledge from the internship, embodying our passions and interests while chasing this grand learning experience under Catherine’s wing. While Catherine had originally intended to run the four Re-Imagining Wayfinding in Yaletown autumn intergenerational series workshops herself, she came across the wonderful yet intimidating offer and opportunity for the interns to co-design and facilitate the intergenerational walks and workshops that would take place at the Roundhouse Community Centre, in partnership with the Roundhouse and Cygnus Group. These would then become our personal projects for the summer; each intern would focus on an element of wayfinding that they would then co-design with Catherine and the rest of the team, and then deliver it to participants at the Roundhouse. Sandy Wang joined us shortly after, thus completing our summer 2012 team.
